Top Agent Magazine article about Petit Home Team

http://www.topagentmagazine.com/top-agent-magazine-north-carolina-edition/

For New England natives Bob and Rob Petit, family is the greatest bond on earth. So when the opportunity arose to leave the snowy winters behind and join forces as a father-son real estate team in the Charlotte and Lake Norman areas of North Carolina, they seized it. They had no connections in the area and knew they would have to work for it. But they also knew that when they pooled their 39 combined years of experience, their work ethic, and their commitment to service—and each other—success would follow.

“We started from scratch with an empty database and started filling up with expired and for sale by owner listings,” said Bob. “We took whatever we could.” The Petits immediately set themselves apart by providing personalized service to their clients.

Because Rob handles all the listings, and Bob dedicates his time to the buyers, they are able to focus on each person’s needs at one time. “The fact that we are representing both sides differentiates us,” said Bob. “Whether you are a buyer or a seller, you get a specific level of experience and attention devoted just for you.”

Not only are Bob and Rob experts in various markets, but as former veterans—Bob (USMC 1970-1972) and Rob (USCG 1996-2000)—they are committed to helping those who have served and hold the Certified Military Residential Specialist designation.

Given their focus and expertise, it wasn't long before Bob and Rob made inroads in the market, winning clients over with their combined knowledge and dedication to service. They finished 2014 with $4.5 million and 21 closings.

They also were able to add a listing agent to their team. And 2015 is shaping up to be even better with a goal to bring in $6.5 million and 35 closings and add another “We are serious about what we do, and a big part of that is providing customer service and being responsive,” Bob said. A big factor in the Petits’success is the fact that they not only work well with clients, but they also work well together. Their foundation begins with their bond as father and son, and together, they are committed to work toward the same goals.

“We are a true team in all aspects,” said Rob. “We provide a lot of structure, but we are able to adjust and cover for each other.”

Both Bob and Rob agree the best part of the business is working with great people and making them happy. Whether it’s the smile on the face of a first-time home-buyer or the satisfaction of a buyer who is moving up, the enthusiasm and satisfaction of their clients is infectious.

“We’re fortunate to be able to make people’s dreams come true,” Bob said. “Their excitement and appreciation is what does it for us.”

As business partners and family members, Bob and Rob also enjoy spending time together outside the office and are able to separate their business and personal lives. They may talk business when they’re working, but when they’re off the clock, it’s about family. Bob is married with three grown children and Rob is married with three young children. They are a happy, close-knit unit, and
they truly enjoy their time together.

“We’re very lucky people to get along so well,” said Bob. “Whether we’re cheering for our northern teams or closing a deal, we love to be together. That’s a good thing.”

1. Mother's Day gift idea - Candle Image Transfer

Here’s what you’re going to need:
Pick the photo you want to work with and prep your paper.Take a piece of white tissue paper and cut it so that it’s just a bit larger than a plain piece of printer paper. Then, fold over and tape the excess tissue paper to the back of your printer paper.
Once your paper is taped, place it into your printer so that the tissue paper is the side that gets printed on. *Make sure to set your printer paper properties on transparency film! This setting prints perfectly on tissue paper! Print your image onto your tissue paper.
Remove the tissue paper from the printer paper and trim your image. I did not want to use the entire image so I trimmed the background away.Once your image is trimmed the way that you desire, place it onto your pillar candle ink side up.
My tissue paper had a bit of static in it so it stayed in place on my candle and I could place it exactly as I wanted it without too much of a problem.
When your image is placed where you’d like it to remain, take a piece of wax paper and wrap it around your candle. *Having a bit of extra wax paper does allow you to grab the slack and use it as a holder of sorts which will benefit you in the next step. Now, take your heating tool and gently heat the wax paper. It will begin to melt over your image.
Once the wax paper begins to melt, you will begin to see your image come through the paper clearly. Stop heating once you see this happen.
Now, slowly peel the wax paper away from the candle. That’s it! Your image should be fully transferred! If you happen to see any bits of wax sticking up, use your finger to lightly pat down (or wipe away) the flakes.
